An Air Release Valve is designed to automatically release pockets of air that accumulate at high points within a pressurised pipeline.
Trapped air can reduce the effective flow area of a pipeline, interfere with pumping efficiency and contribute to undesirable pressure fluctuations. The air release valve allows accumulated air to escape while helping to retain the process fluid within the system.
Air release valves are commonly installed at strategic high points along pipelines and in pumping or water-distribution systems where air naturally collects during normal operation.
The pictured unit features a vertical cylindrical configuration with an automatic venting mechanism, designed for unattended operation once correctly installed.
