A Pressure Relief Valve (PRV) is an important safety component used to protect pressurised equipment and pipeline systems from potentially damaging overpressure conditions.
Under normal operating conditions, the valve remains closed. When the system pressure reaches the valve’s predetermined set pressure, the internal mechanism opens and allows excess pressure or media to discharge. As system pressure returns to an acceptable level, the valve reseats.
