Pinch Valve

A Pinch Valve controls the flow of media through a flexible elastomer sleeve positioned inside the valve body. During operation, the sleeve is mechanically compressed or “pinched” to restrict or completely stop the flow.

When fully open, the sleeve provides a relatively unobstructed flow path with no internal gate, disc or ball directly in the media stream. This makes pinch valves particularly well suited to applications involving slurries, abrasive materials, suspended solids and other difficult process media.

The flexible sleeve also isolates much of the valve mechanism and body from direct contact with the process media. As a result, the sleeve becomes the primary wear component and can be selected according to the particular application.

The pictured model features manual handwheel operation and flanged end connections, with the handwheel controlling the mechanical pinching action.
